For the first time ever, Germans and Floridians have a new nonstop flight between Munich, Germany and Orlando, Florida. Discover Airlines has begun offering a new nonstop flight multiple times per week. Discover Airlines has been servicing flights at the Orlando International Airport (MCO) since November 2022. Now, for the first time in MCO’s history, nonstop to Munich is possible.
MUC to MCO | Munich to Orlando
As of the time of writing this article, nonstop flights from Orlando to Munich begin at $469 one way. These flights last 10 hours and 35 minutes. Flights will include numerous meals, which do have dietary substitutes. These flights will primarily use the Airbus A330-300 and offer Discover Airlines’ Business, Premium Economy and Economy seating.
These flights are expected to all take-off out of MCO’s Terminal C, a modern and gorgeous new terminal expansion to the Orlando International Airport. This Terminal is directly connected to the Brightline high-speed Train Station, allowing for quick ground-based transport to even more Florida destinations.

Economic and tourism benefits of Discover Airlines new Orlando to Munich route
Germany has a strong presence in Orlando and all throughout Florida. This new connection will not only allow for more tourism travel between nations, but economic based travel as well. According to the Orlando Economic Partnership:
- Germany is the third largest source of foreign-owned companies in Central Florida.
- At least 26 German companies have a presence in Central Florida, employing 5,300 workers.
- Germany is Central Florida’s 4th largest trading partner with more than $1 billion in annual trade.
Nonstop travel to Munich also opens a large and established destination for Central Floridians to more easily discover. And Orlando returns the favor with its world-class theme parks and travel destinations, including the upcoming Universal Epic Universe theme park.
MCO Reserve – how to skip the wait at TSA, Orlando International Airport
The TSA, a necessary thing, but a line we all wish we could skip. MCO is one of a few, select airports in the United States to offer a free solution. MCO Reserve is, in a way, a virtual queue. This service, provided 100% for free, allows those leaving out the Orlando International Airport to skip a majority of the TSA line.
MCO states, “Now passengers without TSA PreCheck or CLEAR+ can book a time to go through airport security using the free MCO Reserve service…Travelers may book their time slot up to 7 days in advance. Security screening times available from 5:00am to 5:00pm for flights departing between 6:30am and 8:30pm.”
I personally have used this service more than 10 times and have never had an issue. For those who have flight or crowd anxiety, or if you just hate waiting in line, this service is a game changer for travel. Not all destinations and flights are available, but if you do not currently use Clear+ or TSA Pre-Check, it is well worth your time to check the website for your next MCO outbound flight.
