Universal Epic Universe officially opens May 22, 2025! For those ticket holders who want to add-on more, the Universal Orlando Resort and 3rd party ticket sales agencies are now selling Universal Express. Plus, VIP Tours and the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience are also up for reservation. For those looking to add-on extras for their EPIC experience, now is the time.
Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience
For those looking to look like a monster, or those wanting to be completely transformed, there is an option in the Village of Darkmoor at Universal Epic Universe. Located inside of the Dark Universe land (called Portal Worlds by Universal) is the Universal Classic Monsters inspired town of Darkmoor. This town has rides, characters and dining experiences, plus a place to be turned into a monster yourself, the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience.
This experience has two options, one that utilizes face makeup and the other which has makeup along with “matching accessories.” For the full experience, including accessories to fully complete your look, costs $169 for adults and $109 for kids – and yes, they will offer this full experience to adults as well!
For makeup only the cost is $45 for all ages. Both options, according to the Universal Orlando Resort website, have reservations times beginning around 10 a.m. each day, with offerings up until 5:30 p.m. (timing can vary due to park demand).
Universal Express Pass for Universal Epic Universe
The Universal Express Pass is currently being sold for all park dates in 2025, including opening day! The cheapest dates of the year (from the Universal Orlando Resort website) are Sept. 2-4, Sept. 15-19, Sept. 22-25, Sept. 29-Oct. 1 and Oct. 27-31.
It is important to mention, currently only the Single Use Express Pass is being sold for Universal Epic Universe, not the Universal Express Unlimited pass that is offered at other parks. This means you can use Express for all applicable rides and shows, but only once.
What attractions are offered with the Universal Epic Universe Express Pass?
The Universal Epic Universe Express Pass will be offered for these attractions with a single use per attraction:

- Curse of the Werewolf
- Fyre Drill
- Hiccup’s Wing Gliders
- Le Cirque Arcanus
- Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge
- Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment
- Stardust Racers
- The Untrainable Dragon
- Yoshi’s Adventure
Universal Express will not be offered on these attractions (subject to change):
- Dragon Racer’s Rally
- Mine-Cart Madness
- Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry
VIP Tours for Universal Epic Universe
Those looking for an even faster and more private way to explore Universal Epic Universe can join in on the VIP Experience. These tours can be with a set group of ticket holders or private for just you and your party. Pricing starts at $299 per person. These four hour guided walking tours offer the fastest possible access onto rides and into shows. Purchasing this tour comes with Valet Parking included for one vehicle per purchase.
To purchase VIP Tours, the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience or Universal Express Passes, you can head to the Universal Orlando website. Universal Orlando Resort Authorized Retailers, like the Orlando Informer, can also sell Express Passes. Universal Orlando Resort Authorized Retailers can sometimes offer discounts on tickets and Express Pass sales, so doing some extra research for your specific date could save you some money (which can be spent on more awesome merchandise at the park, of course!).
