Disneyland Park is ready to expand on one of their most iconic attractions, Haunted Mansion. Disneyland announced this upcoming Haunted Mansion expansion, which will tell more of the attraction’s story as well as adding a new retail location.
Opening in 2024, these additions will build on the story and lore of the Haunted Mansion and include an expanded outdoor queue to immerse guests in enhanced theming, as well as a new retail shop adjacent to the attraction’s exit. The expanded queue will dive deeper into the backstory of the mansion, and its residents. Newly added gardens will be inspired by Master Gracey, Madame Leota and the one-eyed cat.

Each of the themed gardens will feature distinct elements. Guest will walk by a water fountain, a gazebo and story based sculptures. Guests will witness an all new greenhouse, seeing where the groundskeepers grow their plants.
Fear not, Haunted Mansion fans, the pet cemetery and horse-drawn funeral hearse will not be lost in this expansion. Outside of the mansion, Madame Leota’s carriage house will serve as a new retail space.

New Orleans Square enhancements
Disney will also be making enhancements to the plaza adjacent to Tiana’s Palace, near the Haunted Mansion. A new park-like setting will feature spots to relax and enjoy the ambiance and live entertainment under the shade of historic trees.
The Haunted Mansion Disneyland expansion will begin in January, 2024. Imagineers will take this time to improve the accessibility of these areas, including a new elevator exit from the Haunted Mansion for guests with disabilities.
Disneyland Park also recently added a new character, Ahsoka Tano. This new roaming character, in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, is the highlight lead in the new Disney+ show, “Ahsoka.”
