Howl-O-Scream Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando’s signature after hours haunt event returns this season on Sept. 8. With nightfall, fog, blood curdling screams and roller coasters in the dark begin to take over.
This year, as part of Howl-O-Scream’s third anniversary, four new scare zones are prepping to take over the park. Blood Light District, Toxic Turmoil, CarnEvil Pier and Portal of Passage are the new areas of fear, joining three other returning favorite scare zones, Frozen Terror – Alive in the Ice, Witchcraft Bayou and Terrors of the Deep.
What is Howl-O-Scream?
Howl-O-Scream is a nighttime Halloween event that features haunted houses, scare zones, shows, bars and rides in the dark. Howl-O-Scream Orlando began in 2021, but the original version, at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, began in 1999.
This event offers single night and season passes, as well as VIP packages. This year’s event offers five haunted houses, seven scare zones, three shows and five themed bars.
Blood Light District
Those who walk the streets of this borough will tempt your deepest desires. You can fight their beckoning, but you will not win. Do not be fooled by their beauty and lust. Stay too long and you will be forever bound by blood.
Portal of Passage
You are invited to meet some of Howl-O Scream’s most devious inhabitants. Have a drink, catch a performance, and enjoy the atmosphere while you wait for the night to begin. The gates will be opening soon, will you be a spectator, a participant or a victim?
Toxic Turmoil
A toxic catastrophe has caused this hidden chemical landfill to be overcome by mutated creatures, humans and plant life. Your only chance is to make it to the exit at the other end of the yard. Be careful where you step, not everything is as it seems.
CarnEvil Pier and CarnEvil Curiosities
The freaks, sinister Barkers and demented clowns that inhabit the CarnEvil Pier welcome you to stay a while. Have a drink and a snack. You can try your luck at the games – but beware, if you lose, your soul belongs to the pier.
This location will also host the new themed bar, CarnEvil Curiosities. Step right up to a world of wonder and evil. Don’t be fooled by the unknowing wanderers who make their way to this specialty bar. The carnival magic is contagious, don’t let it infect you. While not yet confirmed, it is believed this scare zone and bar will be at the new Pipeline – The Surf Coaster attraction.
Roaming Haunts
Alongside the new scare zones, Howl-O-Scream will also be utilizing roaming haunts. These hordes of scareactors can appear anywhere, ready to attack you with fear. This year, there will be three hordes, the Sirens, Sirens Minions and Camo covered fear mongers.
A new scare zone is also coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida. Death Eaters from the Harry Potter Wizarding World series will take over London and Diagon Alley.
