Bonzo’s Bizarre has become the new epicenter of horror, screams, selfies and food stops at Scream-A-Geddon. This multi-million dollar renovation has changed the arrival, ticketing and dining experience at this Florida haunt. The new area helps bring some of Scream-A-Geddon’s most iconic characters into an even brighter spotlight.
The chaos and scares have returned to @Screamageddon in Dade City, Florida. This local haunt has a ton of immersive and interactive options:

Bonzo’s Bizarre is part of the $2,500,000 in park improvements for the 2026 season. The redesigned midway adds 7,200 square feet of covered pavilions and six new photo op locations. There are also four new food outlets, Sugar and Steam, Primo Pizza, Nacho Average Food Truck and Fire & Fry, alongside three new beverage areas: Biergarten, The Cooler and Quench Point. This investment also includes expanded parking facilities and several new acres of paved parking and event areas. For murderous clowns, Bonzo and his gang sure do focus on guest service.
Improved entry and seating areas
The main entrance is a much smoother process with dedicated areas for ticketing, entry, security and waivers (yes, waivers, this place can get pretty intense). The lighting extends out to the parking lot, which has more dedicated paves roads and better organization, making for an easier entry and exit procedure.
A small, but important, detail are the string lights that continue through the entryway and parking. The color of the lighting is just slightly off from the normal, yellow color, making even the entry seem a bit eery. String lights already fit the theme of a traveling circus, but the abundance of lights, their color and it all leading to the grand entry really help set the mood.
Scream-A-Geddon’s most viral characters take center stage with this update
For being a local haunt, Scream-A-Geddon has surpassed the standard one month operation, two haunted houses maximum trend that we see. Local haunts are great, but they tend to not break past a certain size. Scream-A-Geddon has broken past this and the Bonzo’s Bizarre solidifies that, making Scream-A-Geddon an established location with lots to offer.
One thing that Scream-A-Geddon has had major success in has been their viral aspect. The roaming characters, the crazy interactions and the zombie bus rides have all put Scream-A-Geddon in front of millions of eyes. This new update makes that even more possible, adding new photo-ops and giving the roaming characters even more space to do what they do best – go wild and interact with people. During each visit, it has been apparent, guests love to chat, dance and be scared by the clowns, psychos and ghouls of Scream-A-Geddon.
Scream-A-Geddon offers a wide range of ‘Halloween’ activities
Alongside the new entryway, the dining areas, the bars and the carnival style games (there is a toilet bowl toss), guests can also step into the haunted houses, ranging from chaotic and fun to downright horrifying. You can step into the bayou, be cursed, get placed into an oven, wander through an infestation, come face-to-face with oversized puppets, interact with the scare actors as they swing chainsaws at you and much more.
For guests who want to take it to another level, some houses even let you designate yourself as a lover of extreme scares and interactivity. Check out the video above to see what levels of interaction you may get while inside of a haunted house themed to an asylum. From dance parties with the insane, to a jump scare from a dentist or maybe just getting lost in a maze, this haunted house is wild. But, if you aren’t up for that level of scare, there is the more standard walk, scream and explore visit you expect from a standard haunted house as well.
Combined with the roaming characters, the food areas, the carnival games, the bars and the five unique house designs, Scream-A-Geddon has a lot of options depending on the type of Halloween-esque night you are seeking. During my most recent visit I shot zombies from a moving bus, danced with clowns to “The Weeknd,” got “lost” in total darkness in the woods and had numerous interactions with a horde of hooligans while I ate my dinner. And that variety is what keeps me coming back year-after-year.
Scream-A-Geddon is a bit farther away…
I should mention that Scream-A-Geddon is in Dade City, FL. For those visiting Tampa or Orlando, it is within driving distance, but it is just a bit farther than you think. While the actual distance isn’t super far, you are mostly driving on smaller roads instead of Central Florida’s infamous Interstate 4. And, when getting close to the destination you may lose a bit of cell service. This isn’t to discourage you from visiting, I make the drive each year. But, you should be aware of the location and the drive as Google Maps tends to underestimate the drive time from Orlando by about 20 minutes.
Once you get close, you can’t miss it. Scream-A-Geddon has plenty of signage, and those string lights I mentioned, so you won’t be confused on where to enter or park. This event is also best enjoyed with friends, so grab a group, get your tickets and prepare to step into the fog.
