After five years of pink iridescence, a part of the 50th anniversary celebration, Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom is returning to its original blue, gray and gold design. This revert will bring back a look that graced the park for almost 50 years.
“The paint we use has to undergo accelerated UV and weather testing, simulating years of sun exposure,” states Disney. “This rigorous process,” they continue, “ensures that the castle’s colors stay vivid for years to come. For hard-to-reach locations, such as the roofs, we use a high-performance paint that is actually used for cars! The paint is durable and long-lasting, reducing the need for touch-ups.”
