P.O.G., known at the Disney Parks as Stitch Juice or Breakfast Juice, is an iconic Disney Parks staple drink. The refreshing, fruity flavor is best described as the taste of the sweet tropics in a glass. While the idea of Passionfruit, Orange and Guava seems easy to recreate, the exact flavor is hard to make. But, the V8 Energy Drink – Tropical Edition is a near-exact replica.
P.O.G. Juice, from the Hawaiian Islands to Disney Parks
P.O.G. didn’t originate with Disney, but this specific breakfast juice has become a staple of Disney Buffets, breakfast options and even some bars. The drink is plentiful in Hawaii, showing up in grocery stores and gas stations for as cheap as any other drink. But in the Continental U.S., it is hard to find a legitimate option – trust me, I have tried. This Walmart POG has been “sold out” for two years and counting now in my area.
The Hawaiian Sun brand sells a somewhat close flavor, but it is very difficult to find. I have seen it in a few Polynesian eateries, but even then it is rare. Seen in the video above, I tried recreating a version at home and couldn’t nail it.
V8 plus Energy Passionfruit Orange Guava – Tropical Edition
Now we get to this V8 Energy Drink. This isn’t a new drink. From looking back, it appears this item first hit shelves in spring of 2025. But, it is new to me and it may be new to you! It contains 50 calories, 80mg of caffeine and is 8 fl oz. This tropical drink won’t pack as much energy as a Red Bull or Monster Energy, but the 80mg of caffeine is equivalent to one cup of coffee. It is also gluten free and vegetarian.
The most important part? It is delicious and nearly indistinguishable from the iconic Disney flavor. I drank the entire can, trying to think of ways it wasn’t the same. But the smoothness of the drink, combined with the distinct passionfruit and guava start with orange juice finish is so close I don’t think I could tell this and Disney’s drink apart.
Discounts, deals and where to buy V8 P.O.G. Juice
Currently, the best deal I can find on this V8 P.O.G. Juice is on Amazon in the 24 Pack. As of writing this article, the 24 Pack cost $17.40, but is $13.92 after the Amazon coupon. Walmart sells the 6 Pack for $5.12, but claims it is nearly sold out. As the drink has been sold in some stores for nearly a year now, it is safe to assume it isn’t a seasonal item. But as a P.O.G. super-fan, the drink has “hidden” from my eyes.
Hawaii visitors, Disney Parks fans and those looking for a juice based energy drink, go out and enjoy this tropical taste! (No, in case you are wondering, this isn’t sponsored. It was just that good, I had to write up an article after tasting it)
