Stranger Things is invading Halloween Horror Nights with more than just a haunted house. Themed food and merchandise were expected, but a large-scale lagoon show has also been confirmed for this year’s anniversary event. Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins will bring fans into the Upside Down with spotlights, immersive audio and programmed fountain and laser sequences.
Jason Horne, Assistant Director of Entertainment Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort shares, “The all-new lagoon show Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins invites fans to relive iconic moments and celebrate beloved characters…Featuring towering water screens, dynamic lighting effects, and immersive audio — including fan-favorite music from the series — the spectacular show brings unforgettable scenes from Stranger Things to life in a whole new way.”
Horne continues, “Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins will showcase some of the most iconic moments from all five seasons of Stranger Things. For fans who have followed the story from the beginning, the show offers a nostalgic celebration of the characters, adventures, and unforgettable scenes that have made the series a cultural phenomenon…This is the first time we’ve built an entire lagoon show around a single franchise, so we’re incredibly excited to bring it to life.”
Halloween Horror Nights lagoon show
This won’t be the first time that Halloween Horror Nights has hosted a lagoon show, but it will be a first for the show to be fully focused on a single intellectual property. Last year’s lagoon show, Haunt-O-Phonic: A Ghoulish Journey, brought energy, color and screams to the heart of the park during each showing. I can safely assume that this Stranger Things: Return To Hawkins show will also have four or more showings each night as well.
Are you ready to visit the world of Stranger Things in an all new way? Halloween Horror Nights begins August 28th, with Premium Scream Night offering a one-day-early experience on the 27th.
Not visiting during a Halloween Horror Nights event night? Universal doesn’t just utilize the fountains for horror, they also offer a seasonal show, CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular. For a nighttime spectacular, this is one of the longest theme park shows in all of Florida.
