If you love intensely fruity, chewy candy and will be visiting South Florida for Spring Break this month, then you’re in luck! A limited time HI-CHEW event is popping up in Miami from March 21 to March 31, 2025.
HI-CHEW, the famous fruity chewy candy from Japan, is known for their bright, vibrant and creative flavors and their craveable texture. This month, they are releasing three new flavors inspired by sunny travel spots. The brand-new HI-CHEW Getaway Mix will include Mai Tai, Yuzu Lime, and Mango Chamoy flavors. To celebrate, they’re hosting an exclusive pop up event at Miami International Airport!
HI-CHEW Miami Experience & Photo-Op
Spring breakers will be welcomed to the experience by Chewbie, the loveable HI-CHEW mascot as they step into this limited-time experience. After saying hello, visitors have the chance to take photos with the interactive hot air balloon basket photo experience. Each guest can pick a virtual backdrop, allowing them to virtually float on by their dream vacation spot – creating a digital postcard to share with family and friends!
Visitors who sign up for the Chew Crew (basically HI-CHEWS’s members only email list program) will receive a premium Getaway Mix-themed giveaway item of their choice, like a HI-CHEW luggage tag or HI-CHEW stickers. Plus, travelers will have the opportunity to be amongst the first to try the latest candy blend. All three flavors of the new HI-CHEW candies from the Getaway Mix are up for grabs in supersized chewlet-inspired buckets. Guests can sample the candy and snag some to take with them on their latest getaway too!
HI-CHEW Tropical Taste Test
As a HI-CHEW fan in need of a serious vacation myself, I tried this fun new mix, and was pleasantly surprised. I knew I would really enjoy the yuzu lime flavor, but I was unsure how the other two flavors would translate into a HI-CHEW candy.
The yuzu lime was vibrant and citrusy. This flavor was unique because you could taste both the yuzu and the lime. While many citrus candies tend to taste just like a generic blend of citrus, in this candy it was easy to tell exactly what the flavors were meant to be. The mango chamoy HI-CHEW was perfectly balanced, mainly with sweet mango flavors and a touch of chamoy. For those who have never experienced it before, Chamoy is a Mexican condiment made from pickled fruit that can be tangy, sweet, and spicy. This made for a really fun bite. Last, but not least, the Mai Tai flavor felt the most tropical with notes of pineapple and sweet maraschino cherry!
See Chewbie at pop-up experience in Miami International Airport
If you’ll be at the Miami International Airport and want to join in on the fun, join Chewbie and snag some free candy from March 21 to March 31. This event is open to guests arriving and departing from Terminal D. The pop-up event will be located next to gates D24 and D25 each day between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. EST.
Not heading to Miami but wanting to give these fun new flavors a try? You can snag the Mango Chamoy, Yuzu Lime and Mai Tai blend wherever you typically buy HI-CHEW, such as retailers like Walmart or Amazon.
Florida food options continue with the start of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Food & Wine Festival. This limited time event brings weekend concerts, themed drinks and speciality food items to the Tampa area.
