After years and years of rumors, it has finally been confirmed. The Five Nights at Freddy’s property is coming to Halloween Horror Nights in both Orlando and Hollywood. The first iteration of the game debuted in 2014 with the Blumhouse film coming out nine years later in 2023. Now, 11 years after FNaF (Five Nights at Freddy’s) first released, we will see this property in “a whole new way” at Halloween Horror Nights.
Confirmed by the Blumhouse team in Mexico during CCXP, this world-famous horror game property will be making its way to the world’s biggest Halloween event, starting in late August. Since it was confirmed by the Blumhouse Team themselves, it can be assumed that what is created will focus on the 2023 film with some inspiration from the original game as well.
Five Nights at Freddy’s haunted house, scare zone and restaurant?
Even though the Halloween Horror Nights team did confirm that the FNaF property is coming to the Universal Parks, they didn’t confirm in what way. Usually a haunted house or scare zone is confirmed alongside these releases. This specific announcement was missing that additional bit of detail. But, Halloween Horror Nights did state, “Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming in a whole new way to this year’s Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in both Hollywood and Orlando.”
A property the size of FNaF is sure to get a haunted house and potentially the highest budgeted house of the year. But, this omission of detail could tell us more. This house could align with a Blumhouse Scare Zone, something that has been very popular in the past. Or, it could go beyond the regular park experience into a premium offering, such as a gamification aspect or horror dining.
Five Nights at Freddy’s potential Character Dining at Halloween Horror Nights
Halloween Horror Nights Scareactor Dining has happened periodically in the past, with the last offering of this experience happening in 2022 in Orlando. As we have seen with the Halloween Horror Nights team and the Visual Merchandising team, immersive experiences can be done to an extreme level, even in small areas. The video above showcases just how much work was put into the 2023 Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store.
This same care and storytelling could bring the Five Nights at Freddy’s Pizza shop to life for a horrifying (and hopefully tasty) dining experience. This could even allow fans to explore the property without a Halloween Horror Nights ticket, utilizing this dining experience throughout the day and not just during the Halloween Horror Nights evening hours.
FNaF at HHN
While there are still some details to confirm, the property itself is for sure. Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming to Halloween Horror Nights on both the east and west coast of the United States. These announcements usually align with merchandise drops, hints and additional haunted house reveals in the days and weeks afterwards.
With the official grand opening of Universal Epic Universe now having passed, the Halloween Horror Nights team can move ahead full steam. Haunted houses, scare zones, special events and more are sure to be revealed week after week throughout this summer.
