A visit to Walt Disney World is one of rides, food, fireworks and plenty of selfies. Moment after moment, memory after memory, it can all happen so fast. But, the new Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience takes the entire vacation and slows it down to a calm, whimsical moment in a trip filled with non-stop things to try. I was invited out to experience this offering and was pleasantly surprised at how nice of a way it was to “waste away” the afternoon.
Disney's new Alice in Wonderland Tea Experience is all plush and no fuss. 8 teas to choose from and 9 sweets and eats to dine on during this leisurely experience.

Alice in Wonderland meets The Grand
The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience doesn’t mention the 1951 classic, “Alice in Wonderland” in its name, but the theme is there. Nine themed tea treats await patrons, both savory and sweet, all themed to Alice and her adventures. But, that is where the film theming ends, and I say that as a positive. Take away the treats and you are in a bygone age of teas, looking out the windows into the curated walkways of the Grand Floridian. It feels distinctly built for the resort, something fans feared would be lost with recent renovations.
Instead, this sip and dine experience is plush, refined and purposely made for leisure. Walt Disney World doesn’t shy away from thrills or high energy offerings, yet this two hour experience felt so opposite of rushed or worrisome. And for those looking for the Disney details, they abound in the hand-crafted treats and the goodbye envelope left at each table.

Disney Tea Experience meant for adults and for kids
The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience can work for those of most ages, but probably wouldn’t be a top choice for those under five years old. While kids are all welcome, this tea experience felt best for that special afternoon, a birthday surprise or a reunion of friends. Kids who understand and appreciate the special meal should be overjoyed with the experience. During our visit, the Disney Cast Members went above and beyond their usual high level of service to make it feel extra special.
Full adult-priced menu for Disney Tea Experience at Grand Floridian Resort
The price for this experience is $79 for adults and $49 for kids. This price includes nine sweet and savory bites and eight teas to choose from. During my visit, that was more than enough and I wouldn’t have wanted extra food. That being said, caviar and a cheese selection are available, alongside cocktails, champagnes and wines.

Disney also shared their plant-based and kid-friendly versions of the menu in their Disney Eats first look post. I am happy to say that the food looked as good in person as it does in those photos. Do be careful to use utensils with the Matcha Mad Hatter treat. That green is vibrant and quickly sticks to anything it touches – you may want to save it for last if you are grabbing photos of your visit or risk a green tongue in your photos.
A simply tea-riffic way to spend an afternoon
As the title suggests, this tea experience is a fantastic addition to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, it feels balanced between the older hotel aesthetics and the colorful world of Alice. Perhaps the worst part? That would be trying to find a reservation. The Garden View Lounge is not a large space. This adds to the private feel when you are there, but also makes it harder to find an open time. I recommend checking at least 50 days out to try and find a time and even then, openings are sparse.
For those who search and search, you will be rewarded with a visit that isn’t rushed. Disney’s doesn’t appear focused on turning tables here. Instead, taking ample time is a part of the experience. Small bites, lots of sips and ongoing conversation is a part of your visit to the Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience.
