A new adventure play space, Camp Snoopy, plus a new roller coaster, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, is coming to Kings Island in 2024. With this new offering, Kings Island declares they will become the Kids Coaster Capital of the World.
Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers takes both parents and kids aboard a Peanuts-decorated soap box coaster car. To begin, riders will be hoisted up a 70-foot hill to the starting line. As Snoopy waves the checkered flag, riders will be released and launched forward onto a track full of twists and turns – passing the camp lookout station, racing toward the finish line up ahead. Then the entire train of soap box cars will roll backward, traversing the same course, now in reverse.
In addition to the new coaster, kids of all ages will have a chance to become members of the Beagle Scouts at Camp Snoopy. Beagle Scout Acres, the official headquarters of the troop, will provide outdoor summer camp fun and activities. In this new shaded, nature-themed play area, kids and their families will be able to explore and play.
Kids can traverse the turfed mounds and grassy areas, filled with camping equipment to play in, climb over and through. Parents can sit back and relax, while kids take part in hosted ‘Camptivities’ led by the Peanuts gang.
“Camp Snoopy is just what families visiting Kings Island have been looking for,” said Mike Koontz, vice president and general manager of Kings Island. “We’ve designed this new immersive area to feel like a day at camp where families can spend time with each other in a variety of ways, from the thrill of a new coaster to exploring and relaxing in the great outdoors with their favorite Peanuts characters.”
Kings Island is now also selling their 2024 Gold Pass. The 2024 Gold Pass includes unlimited admission to Kings Island, Soak City Water Park, Tricks and Treats Fall Fest, Halloween Haunt and WinterFest for the rest of 2023 and all of 2024 – plus free parking, in-park discounts and more. Anyone who purchases a pass by Sunday, August 13 also will receive five single-use Fast Lane rides, and existing passholders who renew their 2023 season pass for next season will receive a free Bring a Friend offer to use this fall.
