Rumors have been shared time and time again about what the Universal Orlando Resort is going to do next, especially with their extensive coaster work ongoing at Universal Studios Florida. It appears that the rumors have been somewhat confirmed by Universal Orlando Resort themselves in a teaser post. Prep yourselves for something Fast & Furious!
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is a confirmed coaster, coming to Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026. With this announcement from the Orlando park, it seems that style of coaster is coming to both coasts, albeit in very different layouts due to each park’s available land.
Universal Hollywood’s coaster has been well documented. It is being build on the cliffside of Universal Studios Hollywood, offering incredible ride elements and views. Unlike Hollywood, the Orlando park does not have sheer cliffs and staggering mountain views. These coasters will most likely feature the same ride vehicles, but the track layout will have to be very different.
Fast & Furious coaster construction at Universal Studios Florida
With the social post teaser all signs point to Orlando also getting a Fast & Furious roller coaster. Bioreconstruct has flown over the park on numerous occasions, capturing content of the construction ongoing at Universal Studios Florida and into CityWalk Orlando. The Universal Creative team has wasted no time tearing down Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit to make way for the next BIG thing at the park
Rumors suggest that this coaster is aiming for a 2027 opening, with plans for ride completion to happen by Memorial Day of that year. We will have to wait and see what the official announcement is, but it is seeming more and more real that the rumored Intamin coaster is going to be an amazing one. Rumors abound for the Universal Orlando Resort, including one for a Pokémon themed land.
