Taste Test: G Fuel new Whey Protein with Caffeine Energy drinks

G Fuel Energy, known for their 0 sugar, caffeine drinks with wild and ever changing flavors, has added a new offering. G Fuel Protein drinks, complete with Whey Protein and caffeine, plus almost 0 sugar. This new $2 espresso alternative aims to offer sweet flavor, energy and protein all in one.

We decided to be among the first to snag a bag of this new G Fuel Energy + Protein product. We were not paid nor offered this product for free and are doing this review under our own curiosity, not a sponsorship. As more and more companies are combing protein and caffeine in one, how does G Fuel stand up?

G Fuel Energy + Protein taste test

During the initial taste test, this product offered a sweet drink with minimal calories. As an alternative to more costly and fattening products you can get elsewhere, this may be a great product for the sweet tooth. For those who love a simple black coffee, you may not be a fan. Of the three flavors, we tried the Café Mocha, and got exactly what was advertised – a chocolate espresso flavor.

Some love Starbucks for the strong coffee flavor, others love the milkshake aspect. For those who love some coffee in their milkshake, this G Fuel caffeine drink may be for you. While not overbearing, this is certainly a sweet drink. This powder, even having Whey Protein in it, was not chunky or powdery tasting at all. Instead, it offered a smooth drink.

Benefits of G Fuel energy drinks

G Fuel’s claim to fame is their zero or low sugar options. While this bag does advertise 0 sugar, it does have a nominal amount – less than 1 gram per serving. G Fuel drinks also tend not to have carbonation. They offer flavors like Peach Rings, Raspberry Lemonade, Snow Cone, Bahama Mama and more.

This lack of sugar, plus cleaner caffeine ingredients, is supposed to help with stopping a sugar crash later in the day. Many G Fuel drinks are also low or zero calorie products. And, with powdered tub containers, many of the drinks equate out to less than $1 per serving.

How does Whey Protein G Fuel stand out?

Compared to other G Fuel options, this product is more expensive. At around $2 a serving, this isn’t an expensive drink, but it is more than other products they offer. In exchange for more money, comes the benefits of Whey Protein, 15 grams of it. As compared to other protein drinks, this may not be a monumental amount. But, the purpose of this drink is to have multiple purposes.

The G Fuel Energy + Protein drink powder offers low calorie, sweet, caffeinated protein options. This won’t replace your super-high protein powders, but it may replace other coffee options. Many consumers are not big breakfast fans, avoiding an early meal in replacement for coffee or another drink option. This drink can provide the pick-me-up and some protein as a jump-start to the day.

Protein is an essential part of your daily intake. It helps combat unnecessary “snacking” hunger and is a major necessity for muscle sustainment and growth. Many studies have shown that protein is lacking in a daily diet, resulting in cravings for less healthy alternatives like fast food. While this drink’s 15 grams won’t supplement an entire daily need of protein, it can jumpstart the day. And that is what this drink seems to succeed at, offering a step off point.

Where to purchase G Fuel

G Fuel is sold online, via Amazon and in select stores. G Fuel regularly offers BOGO deals, and we recommend keep an eye out for those times. G Fuel does charge shipping. But Free Shipping deals are sometimes offered for price amounts or select products.

If you aren’t sure what taste is for you, there is a taste tester deal with a shaker cup provided for $15. For cost saving, large bundles are sold as well. These bags of the powder are significantly larger than a normal G Fuel powder tub. They equal out to about $2 a serving.

We also tested chocolates, from Mr. Beast to the anti-woke Daily Wire option. In store or online, these flavors compete with Hershey’s and the value brand from Walmart. We put them head-to-head to see the best of the bunch.
