Disney’s Animal Kingdom has new Avatar inspired food at Satu’li Canteen. The smoked chimichurri-braised beef replaces the previous slow-roasted grilled beef option. The price has also risen $1.50.
Satlu’li Canteen is a mobile order quick service restaurant located in Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is one of the most popular eateries in the park, and tops many Disney fan’s favorite food locations (the author included).

Mobile order at Satu’li Canteen
While Satu’li Canteen does offer a register to pay, they strongly suggest using the My Disney Experience mobile order function to pre-pay for your food items. In fact, trying to pay in person is a bit of a process, with Cast Members guarding the doors for mobile order guests. You can still order inside if you express that you want to pay in cash, or just wish to speak to someone in person. But be prepared, some Cast Members are specific about wanting you to use the app instead.
Mobile ordering on the My Disney Experience app is fairly easy after your first purchase. You will need to add your credit card information into the app. You can navigate to the mobile food order section of the app with the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen. In the mobile order section you will be able to choose food types, including allergy friendly options, as well as drinks, including alcohol.
Once prepared, grab a time to pickup your food. Then decide your food and drink items. Lastly, pay on the app and head towards the restaurant. When close enough, you can hit the “I’m here” button and Disney will begin making your order. Some locations take longer than others, but a standard expected meal preparation time is about eight minutes.

Create-your-own Satu’li Bowl
Satu’li Canteen offers Avatar themed food. But, alien-style food items can sound confusing. The quick description? Satu’li Canteen is the Chipotle of Walt Disney World. Satu’li bowls are the most popular food items in Pandora – The World of Avatar. The new smoked chimichurri-braised beef food option is a Satu’li bowl.
These bowls let you pick a protein, add in a base and top it with a sauce. These bowls are quite filling, and are one of the best bang-for-your-buck options at Walt Disney World. There are kids menu options, or you could easily have two younger children share one of these bowls.
New smoked chimichurri-braised beef
This new Avatar inspired smoked chimichurri-braised beef food option is exclusive to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You can get other types of chimichurri beef at different restaurants around Walt Disney World though, like at Epcot’s Garden Grill.
This option will make your Satu’li bowl cost $15.43, after tax. Or you can get it in a combination chicken and beef bowl for $18.63, after tax. You can order this meat option on top of different base options:
- Red and sweet potato hash
- Noodles
- Rice and beans
- Hearty salad
You can then pick a sauce for your meal:
- Charred green onion vinaigrette
- Black bean vinaigrette
- Creamy herb sauce

Taste test review
Satu’li Canteen continues to be of the best quick service food options at any theme park in Florida. The price for the amount of food, added on to the fresh taste, makes this a must-visit location for a theme park meal (enough places offer pizza and a cheeseburger).
While the chopped wood-grilled chicken bowl still remains my favorite, this smoked chimichurri-braised beef just took second place. The beef was flavorful and soft. There was ample chimichurri sauce to mix into the meal. The meal was large, but not too filling that I would be afraid to go on a roller coaster or Avatar – Flight of Passage afterwards. This is a recommend meal for those looking for a quick service stop, topped with well made beef options.
