Six Flags Over Georgia is initiating a new offering for the park, aimed to make a more inclusive environment. Low Sensory Sunday at Six Flags Over Georgia will focus on less distractions for visitors in the opening hours of operation. In alliance with World Autism Month, this initiative aims to create a less stimulating environment.
Guests of all ages and backgrounds will be able to visit Six Flags Over Georgia with more ease. During the first two hours of park operation there will be reduced park sound and additional quiet break areas throughout the park. Six Flags Over Georgia has been designated as a Certified Autism Center. They received this accreditation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards.

During the entire month of April, the park will open at 11:00 a.m on Sundays. with these guidelines in place. During some Sensory Sundays, Six Flags Over Georgia will also be offering other events, such as the Brews & Bites Festival. Since the park is only open during weekends during April, crowds can form.
This experience is meant to offer a more peaceful atmosphere for guests who wish to attend. But due note, as with any public area or experience, these areas can still be very popular. Six Flags states, “Our goal is to safely accommodate the needs of all Guests. Our policies comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state laws.”

Six Flags Over Georgia states, “Guests with cognitive disorders, disabilities or mobility impairments who request helpful accommodations must obtain the IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card (IAC) by registering at www.accessibilitycard.org. Once a Guest has filled out the online application and uploaded necessary documentation, they will be able to access their digital Accessibility Card. Guests will present the IBCCES Accessibility Card and Information Sheet to the Ride Information Center (Guest Services) inside each park to receive any necessary accommodations.”

Georgia Surfer – Opening 2024 at Six Flags Over Georgia
Later this year, Georgia Surfer will open at Six Flags Over Georgia. This new Ultra-Surf Coaster will take riders back and forth, building up speed before a watery splashdown. Riders will surf over 590 feet of U-shaped track, reaching speeds of up to 60 miles per hour before hitting the ride’s 144-foot peak.
Also debuting this summer, Universal Studios Florida is opening a re-imagined space – DreamWorks Land. This land will include kid friendly spaces, new interactive character moments, food offerings and more.
