Christmas decorations coming to Universal Epic Universe theme park

Rumored, but now finally confirmed. Universal Epic Universe theme park will be getting Christmas decorations for its opening year in two of the parks five lands (known as portal worlds). While Universal didn’t yet give out specific details as to what decorations will be added, they have revealed the lands and some minor details on what guests can expect.

Christmas festivities begin at the Universal Orlando Resort on November 21 and continue through January 4. Fan favorites are returning, such as Grinchmas and Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s. There are also some tweaks to the Universal Holiday Tour, a VIP experience that gets you quick access to characters and Christmas experiences.

Alongside seasonal entertainment, the parks also receive special decorations – something we have expected for Universal Epic Universe. While this new park is less than one year old, the idea of Christmas inspired decor seemed too perfect for this new destination. Now, it is confirmed.

Christmas in Celestial Park and Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe

The Universal Orlando Resort has confirmed that Christmas is coming to Universal Epic Universe in two areas, Celestial Park and Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic. If you have ever had the privilege of visiting a Wizarding World land during Christmas, you know why I am excited for this. The snow (yes, very fake, it is still Florida), the wreaths, the Hot Butterbeer, the projections on Hogwarts Castle. It makes a land of magic somehow ever more magical. Now we get to see how that transformation affects Wizarding Paris, also known as Place Cachée.

Universal Orlando Resort states, “From garlands to dazzling lights and other touches of wizarding splendor, guests can immerse themselves in festive holiday décor across all three wizarding world locations this season — including Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, and for the first time, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe. Guests can also warm up with hot Butterbeer and shop a selection of seasonal wizarding merchandise offerings to commemorate their visit.

Celestial Park will also be prepped for the holiday season with “seasonal lighting and decorations.” While not confirmed, we can imagine that some of the Cosmos Fountains daily shows will be updated with a bit of holiday flair. The land’s grand, astronomical design could bring us a Christmas tree that is truly out-of-this-world.

Universal Epic Universe Christmas – room to expand

While we now know that two of the five portal worlds will have Christmas decor, one land is seemingly missing. Super Nintendo World is a land at Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Studios Japan and now Universal Epic Universe, but only the Florida-based Epic Universe is missing out on the holiday spirit this year.

This doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen, but it appears the focus of decorations were aimed at Celestial Park and Harry Potter for this year. Perhaps the 2026 season will bring new holiday options for Super Nintendo World and How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. I wouldn’t hold your breath for Christmas to appear inside of the Universal Monsters Dark Universe area. But, who knows…

Do you prefer the parks during their season overlays? The Florida parks seem to focus on mostly Christmas and Halloween, but we do occasionally see some 4th of July inspired offerings as well. As for myself, I already LOVE Celestial Park and I cannot wait to see how it appears for the holiday season. Now, if only we could get an annual pass to this park so we don’t have to buy a ticket each time.
